Masks will still be required when unable to social distance.Pinochle is a big favorite here. If you don’t know how to play, we have a group of Seniors who would love to teach you. It’s a fun card game that is played with a unique deck of only 48 cards, which contains two of each suit of the Nines, Tens, Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Aces, there are no 2 through 8 rank cards. SATURDAY, MAY 22, 2021 LOCATION: TOWN HALL, 20 MIDDLEBUSH RD, WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY 12590 10:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.Information for Vendors This year, due to Covid-19, our first Spring Craft Fair at Wappinger Town Hall will be held outdoors. This is a juried fair - all items are to be hand-crafted – no direct sale items. You must provide a photo of your work and include your New York State Tax ID number to complete your registration. You must present your New York State Tax ID Certificate of Authority to staff at the desk upon your arrival. Since we are outdoors, the spaces will be larger; each vendor will have space for a 10'x10' pop-up, which we recommend bringing (but is not mandatory). There will be no sharing of booths (no ‘guests’) – each vendor is to apply for their own booth. Those not in compliance will not be approved in the future.Applications are due by May 14. Our jury will notify you by May 14 whether you have been selected to participate in the craft fair. Due to the uncertainty around Covid, we will not be collecting the $25.00 vendor fee until the day of the fair. PLEASE KNOW: we will be hosting a food drive to benefit the food pantries at Zion Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church, both in the Village of Wappingers Falls, nd also collecting pet food to be donated to Safe Haven Animal Rescue in Hopewell Junction. We ask that everyone bring a non-perishable food item to donate to one or both of these food drives.Set up will be Saturday, May 22 between 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.; booths must be completely set up before the 10:00 am opening. Breakdown and cleanup no earlier than 3:00 p.m. Two chairs will be provided; we do not provide tables. Our Senior Center Pinochle Group is starting back up! We are taking it to the great outdoors to make this activity able to run in a Covid-19 friendly manor! We're moving out to our Pavilion at Martz Field as soon as the weather warms up enough to spend a beautiful day out in nature. Pinochle can be played with either two, three, or four players. The object of the game is to accumulate points by either winning tricks, or by melding a combination of cards. The meld of the Jack of Diamonds and the Queen of Spades is known as “Pinochle”, and scores 40 points. Contact the Senior Center at 297-3670 for more information
