Town of Wappinger Summer Camp 2023
NEW FOR 2023
The Town of Wappinger has begun participating in the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS). Our participation in this system means that with your consent, we can access your child's immunization records. This is the only portion of your child's health record that is visible for us, with the exception of any illness that would remove the vaccination requirement (Ex. The child had the chickenpox, therefore they didn't receive a chickenpox vaccine because they were already immune.) We have "read-only" access to these records and can not make any amendments. Also,we have no access to their entire medical history and still need you to answer the questions on the child health form.
How does this affect the registration process? Well, it makes it quicker and easier for you! You no longer have to scan and upload your child's vaccination records. During registration, once you answer "yes" to allowing us to access the record, we do the rest. If you answer "no" we will contact you at a later date and you will have to provide us a copy of your child's vaccination record.
If you have any questions about NYSIIS please feel free to contact us.
To Register your child for camp you will/may need:
These items are required for each child.
Your child's vaccination report (If you decline NYSIIS Consent)
A report card or school document listing the school name and your child's name from the current school year.
Two (2) items showing proof of residency (DL, utility bill, tax bill or mail from a government agency).
A Copy of you child's Birth Certificate
With the exception of the child's immunization report which is needed every year, other documents are kept on file and only need to be updated periodically. Therefore, you may not need to upload all new documents for your child if you were with us last year. Our system monitors this for us, so if it asks you to upload something, its time for that document to be uploaded.
You can either upload the documents to each child's profile prior to registration or upload them during the registration check out.
If you are registering using a smart phone or tablet, you can use your device's camera feature to upload the documents provided all information is visible.Make sure that you include ALL Pages of your child's immunization Record
If you are unable to register because the system is considering you a Non-Resident and you are a TOWN OF WAPPINGER resident please halt your transaction and call 297-0720.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to 297-0720.

The Fine Print: While unlikely based on current covid trends, it is possible that children will be required to wear masks while at camp or during transportation for field trips. It is possible that even if these measures are not in place at the start of camp, they may be instated at any time based on BOH guidance. By registering your child for camp, you are confirming that you understand your child will have to comply with whatever PPE/Social Distancing/Safety requirements are in place at any given time or they will not be able to attend camp. There will be no refunds during the camp session due to disagreement with camp policy concerning Covid safety protocols and any refunds prior to the start of camp will be subject to our refund policy. There will also be no refunds if your child is expelled from camp (see disciplinary policy below) for failure to comply with safety policies.
