Recreation and Senior Center Staff

Your Recreation department and committee are here for you! Located at Town hall, we offer sports programs such as tennis, fishing, basketball, gymnastics, aerobics and soccer. Our programs cover all ages groups. There is something for everyone! We also host ceremonies, including Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day. Schlathaus Park is where you’ll find events such as Community Day, Trunk or Treat, Christmas tree lighting and our summer concert series. Martz Field is home to the Egg Hunt and summer camp. Do you need to use a ballfield and park? Reservations are made here. We are always looking to expand what we offer, so keep checking in to see what’s new. Whether you or your kids attend one of our sports programs, come to our events, join us at our Senior Citizen Center, or enjoy a free summer concert in the park, we look forward to seeing you.

Dot has been with the Town of Wappinger for 22 years as of March 2019. Started in the Building Department and worked there for 4 ¾ years. Left town hall and came back and worked in the Town Clerk’s Office. I am presently in the Senior Center as the assistant to the director of the Senior Center. I get the morning started off by making the coffee and having refreshments ready for our seniors when they arrive. I do bingo on Mondays and Fridays and collect 50/50 money which will be used for cake and pizza for our once a month birthday celebration. I am also in charge of collecting dues, collecting money for our senior bus trips. I introduce new members to our senior center family. I take attendance at the end of the day.
